What is NLP?

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a way of exploring inner structures to identify patterns of behaviour then going on to use a set of guiding principles and techniques to quickly and effectively bring about desired change. It gives individuals choices in relation to thoughts, feelings, beliefs and behaviours that have previously limited their development. NLP enables people to tap into their most powerful mental, emotional and physical resources to create outstanding results.

A way of simplifying the term NLP is to split it down into 3 sections:

Neuro: this refers to our neurology, our nervous system, or the way that our mental pathways allow us to see, hear, feel, taste and smell.

Linguistic: this refers to the relevance of the words and phrases we use to express ourselves, our thinking styles, as well as how our body language reveals our states.

Programming: this refers to the way we choose to organise our thoughts, feelings and actions, to get results. By changing our programming, we achieve different outcomes.
